During this course, you will develop a deeper understanding of how to approach end of life care and how to meet the social, emotional, and familial needs of individuals.
The Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care (RQF) is delivered by our partners London South East Colleges. On completion of your course you will be awarded the Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care (RQF), the Ofqual qualification number for this course is 501/0117/1.

Unit 1: Understand End of Life Care

- Know the range of support services available to individuals and their families
Unit 2: Communication During End of Life Care
The learning outcomes for this unit are:
- Understand communication skills in the context of end of life care
- Understand how to overcome barriers to communication
Unit 3: Assessment and Care Planning in End of Life Care
The learning outcomes for this unit are:
- Understand the holistic approach to end of life care
- Understand person centred assessment and planning
- Understand advance care planning
Unit 4: Person-Centered Approached to End of Life Care
The learning outcomes for this unit are:
- Understand the effects of symptoms in relation to end of life care
- Understand a range of therapeutic options used to support effective symptom
- Understand the principles of pain management
- Understand techniques for supporting a person with their social needs
- Understand how to support a person’s spiritual, religious and cultural needs
- Understand techniques for supporting a person with their psychological and emotional needs
- Understand people’s responses to dying
Unit 5: Care During the Final Hours of Life and Bereavement Care
The learning outcomes for this unit are:
- Understand how to offer appropriate support in the final hours of life
- Understand how to care for the deceased person
- Understand the process of grief and loss
- Understand how to support people following bereavement

Once you’ve added your details and confirmed your eligibility you will have access to your course. You can view your content and start preparing your first assignment.
Whilst you are doing this you will need to provide some more enrolment details to London South East Colleges, instructions will be given to help you. Once all your details have been provided you will receive a call from a learning support officer to verify your details. Once this step is complete, you will have full access to your online course!

Eligibility Criteria
- Aged 19 or over
- Currently living in England
- Not have completed any section of the course previously
- Must have lived in the UK/EU/EEA for at least 3 years*
*EEA nationals will need to have obtained either pre settlement or settled status and provide evidence of this.
Receive an accredited NCFE CACHE or TQUK certificate
The certificate is a record of achievement and your reward for completing a nationally recognised qualification.
- NCFE CACHE and TQUK are both fully-approved as awarding organisations by Ofqual
- Demonstrate to employers that you have gained a recognised and regulated qualification in your chosen subject
